Kalpavruksha – the tree which has the power to fulfill any wish.
Taking inspiration from this, Kalpavruksha – a Steiner Inspired School has been initiated by Priyanka and Mangesh Panhalkar at Vikhroli, Mumbai.
Like a seedling growing slowly but steadily into a mighty tree under loving care and nurturing, every child needs a loving and secure environment to grow into a well balanced, compassionate and responsible adult.
At Kalpavruksha we strive to provide such an environment to every child enabling him to discover his inherent unique capabilities. This would help him to grow into a confident and self assured adult capable of charting his course judiciously through the complexities of life.
In this bustling metropolis, the school is located in the sleepy little suburb of Vikhroli. The school’s village like ambience is intended to help city bred children discover and savour the unhurried and simple joys of village life. Given the demands and rigours of city life, this unfettered and organic setup provides a calm environment and stimulates the creative processes leading to wholesome development.

Professional Teachers and Administrator
Children up to the age have a basic need for genuine authority, rooted in the child’s love and respect for the teacher. This need for authority leads to one of the most distinctive features of Waldorf education……teachers. The teacher and school administrators works with the same group of children for a number of years -potentially 3 years . Each class is also taught by other teachers who specialize in regional languages and the various arts. The teacher closely follows each child’s academic achievement and strives to help the students achieve their full potential. Through the years a special relationship grows between teacher and students. As the class teacher’s knowledge of the children deepens, he or she is in an ideal position to contribute to the healthy intellectual, artistic, emotional, and social development of each child. In this time of rapid cultural and technological change, having a class teacher for a number of years brings the child security through the experience of being known and, thus, loved.The class teacher also brings unity and continuity to the curriculum, unifying the various disciplines over the years. Through the challenge of teaching a new curriculum each year, the teacher brings interest and enthusiasm among all students.
